Compensation: $40000 to $60000 per year
Job Purpose:

 

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and procuring goods and services to ensure that operational needs are met while considering price, quality, and delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Create purchase orders, get necessary approvals, and order the needed items to ensure that they arrive on time, utilizing the Purchase Requisition procedure.

·        Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.

·        Assist Supply Chain Manager in establishing purchasing policies and ensure compliance.

·        Work with the Shipping/Receiving department to ensure proper supply quantities arrive in a timely manner, which may entail a physical count as agreed on purchase order.

·        Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders & update database accordingly.

·        Develop, cultivate, and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers which includes maintaining an approved supplier list.

·        Maintain and update supplier information in the database.

·        Conduct research for new components and suppliers.

·        Assess and evaluate supplier performance.

·        Contact suppliers to resolve any issues.

·        Prepare reports and updates as required.

·        Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross-functionally.

·        Adhere to all company policies, procedures and other expectations set forth by the Supply Chain Manager/Director of Operations and/or COO.

·        Follow environmental and safety regulations and act in compliance with U.S. laws.

·        Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

 

·        BS or MS in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

·        Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Power Point and ERP Systems.

·        Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts

·        Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

·        Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve problems working across multiple departments.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

The Buyer’s responsibilities will normally be performed in an office environment with normal office equipment.  However, there will be times when you are expected to work in areas other than an office with exposure to heat, cold, and other diverse weather conditions. Physical demands are moderate, consisting primarily of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy boxes up to 50 pounds and/or utilizing a hand dolly. Incumbents must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction, and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
